We all know Pretty Little Liars isn't exactly the most realistic show around. Mysterious murders happen on the regular, a super-stalker devotes countless hours to tracking teen girls, and said teen girls apparently have endless closets full of the funkiest fashions. It's a heightened universe, and that's part of the fun.

Even with that in mind, there are occasionally moments that make us stop and say, "Really?" Sometimes it's something that doesn't make sense from the writers, and, more often, it's just that we want to reach through our TVs and smack the characters upside the head for making bad choices.

Here are our picks of the biggest logic fails and most WTF moments from Season 4, Episode 16 (“Close Encounters”) :

1. Ezra's story about Malcolm. Ezra's cover story about going to a lawyer so he can have a right to see Malcolm makes no sense. He hadn't spent very much time with Malcolm before he found out the truth; he has no legal right to continue to see him. If this story turns out to be true, it's ridiculous. If it's not true (which is what we suspect), then it's ridiculous of Aria to buy it — hook, line, and sinker — especially after what Jake told her. Hasn't she learned she can't trust anyone? And given the number of times Ezra has admitted to lying to her at this point (remember that whole, "whoops, yeah, I was engaged once" thing?), we really wonder why she doesn't question the relationship more.

2. Shana's story. So... Shana has been helping Ali this whole time? But wasn't she involved with setting the lodge on fire? Why was she so antagonistic to the Liars? Are we really supposed to believe she'd move states to solve Ali's murder? Regardless of what Emily says, that's pretty insane.

3. Toby signing the settlement. During the summer season, Toby was willing to turn "A’s” lair van over in exchange for info on his mom, but now he's willing to just stop digging even though there are clearly still questions? We don't buy it.
