We. Loved. This. Episode.

The biggest, most obvious reason is that we finally made some headway on the "what is Ezra's deal" question. See, it turns out he was (almost certainly) Board Shorts — and now Spencer knows. Which means next episode is going to get very interesting, very quickly.

But that wasn't the only good thing going on here. In fact, this episode was pretty great start to finish. There were several awesome Mona scenes, which always make us happy. Emily and Spencer's fight was painful, but made sense, emotionally. Aria got to show her spine. Hanna got her detective on. The episode brought back several characters from the past (Maggie, Andrew, and Holbrook) without seeming overstuffed. Every girl's plotline felt well balanced, with good emotional moments for all of them.

Plus, the last twenty minutes or so provided some of the creepiest "A" moments in a long time. Operating on Hanna? Chilling. That coordinated school-wide attack on Em? Also really scary. "A" has upped his game.

We give it 5 stars.
