We’re not the only ones who have speculated on the possibility that Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) is “A” on Pretty Little Liars. MTV News asked the actress herself if she thought there was a chance her on-screen counterpart might be the mysterious villainess. Here’s what the Pretty Little Liars had to say!

"There's a whole following of, like, underground following that thinks that Aria could be the ultimate 'A.' And they have, like, some pretty good theories," Luce said. "I'm always constantly impressed. I mean, mainly because Aria is kind of always missing in action, but I mean her excuse is that she's always with Ezra. You know? But if you notice in a lot of the episodes there will be the three girls and it's like, 'Well, where the heck is Aria? Like, where is she?' Yeah there are a lot of people that think that."

Good to know that Lucy herself has some suspicions about Aria’s frequent disappearances. Her M.I.A. occasions seem even more suspicious now that her Ezra explanation isn’t as sound. If Aria was with Ezra on all of those occasions and Ezra is “A” or one of “A”’s minions, then how could she not know of his involvement in the “A” game? Riddle us this, Aria!

Lucy doesn’t seem too worried at the prospect of her character turning out to be a bad guy. Especially given how it has helped the popularity of Keegan Allen (Toby) and Ian Harding (Ezra Fitz) -- both of whom have had the “A” pinned to their chests.

"I mean our show is pretty commercially popular so I think it would be ingrained in people's minds for a long time," she said. "But our show has made it kind of popular to be the bad guy. It's kind of the cool thing. Like, Keegan and I think Ian, who plays Ezra, is even more popular now, which I didn't think was possible, after being part of the 'A' team."
