You're such a pill! On this week's Pretty Little Liars (Season 4, Episode 18: “Hot For Teacher”), Spencer needs to just say no, Ali loses her wing woman, and Big Brother Board Shorts is watching you.

Wherein Spencer Looks Like an Extra From the Movie Trainspotting

Spencer clearly never does anything half-assed, as it has taken her almost no time to basically star in her own personal film called Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Rosewood. But are her pill-popping ways paying off by helping her get clues on Ezra, like that Rosewood apartment listing  or is it a dead end? And by the way, does Spencer not own a mirror? Get it together, girl.

Speaking of Ezra, that exchange between Spence and Mr. Fitz was mighty creepy. As we see from all of Ezra’s surveillance footage, he knows exactly what Spencer is up to (and he watches Aria sleep? Gross!). And we assume Ezra is using his family’s money to pay for those hidden cameras, since we doubt that struggling poets can have that kind of an electronics budget.

Wherein Emily Finds Her Earring in the Nick of Time

We’ve never been happier to see someone tear open a piece of artwork than we are when Emily manages to snag that envelope of cash from behind Ali’s poster of French twins (twin theory alert!). But who did the money come from? The last time we saw wads of cash on this show, it was in Ezra’s sock drawer. Come to think of it, does no one in this town have a checking account?

Wherein Aria Likes Chickpeas Way More Than Most People Do

Poor, naive Aria. She tries to bail on her little romantic weekend with Ezra, and instead he convinces her to travel two hours round-trip for chickpeas. Not even the editor-in-chief of everyone’s favorite magazine, Chickpeas Illustrated, would make that kind of trek. (Please note: Chickpeas Illustrated is not a real magazine.)

So how did Ezra manage to be right behind Aria at night in the cabin after she peeks outside? At least we now know what's in the secret basement in Ezra’s cabin, since we were a little worried he might have, y'know, a body down there. But why would Ezra constantly want to bring Aria to the cabin, considering that she could potentially stumble on this lair? Seems like a faulty plan to us.

Wherein Hanna Is Easily Roped Into Snooping in Ezra’s Pad

If it’s wrong that we’re already rooting for Hanna and Detective Gabriel (mash-up name: Hanriel? Gabna?), then dammit, we don’t want to be right. Okay, so we still don’t trust him after the whole tooth debacle last week. And was he dropping a hint to Hanna by telling her to pay attention to the little things in Ali's case?

Clues:

— So what the heck is Ezra up to? He appears to own more electronics equipment than ten Radio Shacks put together, so he clearly is on some kind of serious mission. But the show wouldn’t tell us who Big “A” is already, right? Also, is Ezra planning to do something to Jesse the counselor? We're nervous.

— Another major Big “A” contender this season has been Wren, whose name shows up at the end of the episode on those prescription pads. So did he have something to do with Spencer’s pal Brenda getting her stash of ADHD meds? We definitely think Wren might be working with “A,” considering he has the medical knowledge to drug Hanna and make Em’s dad sick, which happened last week.

— Along with seeing Wren's prescription pads at the end, we also see close-up photos of Aria on the wall. These are quite similar to the ones we saw in Jason’s shed in Season 2. So maybe Jason is somehow working with “A”?

— We felt so badly for poor Alison this week, as she hops on a bus all by her lonesome, without much cash. So where is she headed? And where did she get the money in her poster? The note on the cash appears to have the words “Barile Volante” on it, along with an NYC phone number. Hmm.

— It seems like we get another reminder this week that Ali has a twin, as Ali's cash stash just happens to be behind the poster of twins. Quite the coincidence. And speaking of coincidences, it's suspicious that Aria says she was out taking photos right after we saw "A" taking pics.

— Who drugged Shana? Like we said before, whenever something happens that involves pills or drugs on this show, we assume that Wren is involved. And is Shana really so scared by the not-very-threatening “Don’t” message on the Ravenswood sign that she completely leaves Ali high and dry? Shana has definitely witnessed scarier stuff than some red paint on a sign.

Other Things That Need to Be Discussed:

— Our favorite piece of clothing this week just might have been Emily’s “I’m Allergic to Mornings” tee. We’ve got that same allergy, Em. Then again, in a town like this, you probably don’t want to give “A” any ideas — like, wearing a shirt that tempts “A” to slip you with something that you really are allergic to.

— We couldn’t have been the only ones who were convinced that Ali’s cash would be gone when Emily stashed it in the coffee grounds bag. Did Emily learn nothing from Ms. Marin’s infamous Lasagna Box Debacle from a few seasons ago? Come to think of it, this show has had a lot of debacles.

— We totally dig Aria’s eagle necklace this week. But the first thing we think of when we think of a bird on this show — not counting the freaky ravens in the appropriately named town of Ravenswood — is the talkative Tippi. Is this necklace a hint that Aria really is “A” and is keeping Tippi alive? Okay, sure — that’s crazy. But we’re not allowed to squeeze in one “Aria is ‘A’” conspiracy theory this week? Not even one?!
