We’re psyched that the Pretty Little Liars well, at least Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Emily (Shay Mitchell) are up to speed about Ezra’s shady behavior. In this sneak peek for next week’s episode (Season 4, Episode 19: “Shadow Play”) the three teenagers are finally asking the same questions we are about the Mona-Fitz connection.

In the minute-long clip, Spence, Em, and Hanna are loitering around the school on the weekend to gather information about Ezra. “So, that was Ezra at the cabin?” Emily asks Spencer, as the three file out of the office.Spencer answers: “We always knew there were two of them.” “Ezra and Shana?” asks Hanna.

“Ezra and somebody,” Spencer corrects. She’s not one to jump to conclusions. But she’s going to be tempted to with what happens next! The girls hear someone coming down the hallway. They duck around the corner, only to see Mona make her way through the empty school and into Ezra’s empty classroom.

“Is she looking for the book?” Hanna asks. What book is she referring to? Ali’s diary, perhaps? Spencer doesn’t know, and seems annoyed that both Emily and Hanna keep asking her questions she couldn’t possibly know the answer to. We think it’s kind of hilarious.

Mona comes out of the classroom with a stack of files in her arms.  “Wait, why is Mona stealing papers from Ezra?” asks Hanna. Detective Hanna may be quick, but she doesn’t put it together as quickly as Spencer and Emily. “Maybe she’s not stealing them,” suggests Spencer.

Emily’s right there with her: “Maybe she’s delivering them.” Excellent deductions, our dear Liars! But what could Mona and Ezra be up to together? Last time we checked, Mona didn’t seem to be in on Ezra’s “A” status. Has that changed? We’ll have to wait and see.

Do you think Mona and Ezra are working together? What are those files for? Share your theories in the comments below!
