Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) is alive and on the run on Pretty Little Liars, but does that really mean we — and the Liars — can trust her? Our journey into Spencer's mind in Season 4, Episode 19 (“Shadow Play”) made it clear that Spencer still has some questions about her former bestie. So do we.

There are a lot of reasons we're not convinced Ali is just a scared girl on the run, and the noir version of Ali highlighted most of them. Here are the biggest questions we still have about Rosewood's former queen bee.

Why did she say she didn't trust some of the Liars? We're still looking for an explanation about why Ali told Em she didn't trust all of the Liars. Is this a hint that Spencer did something bad to Ali in the past, or is Ali still trying to sow discord amongst her friends?

Why won't she give a straight answer? In noir world, Spencer straight out asked Ali why she never gives a single straight answer. It's a good question. We know she's scared and not entirely trusting, but does that really explain why she has been so un-forthcoming with info? Could her zipped lip policy actually be because she doesn't want the Liars to know what's going on?

Did she trick Spencer into helping cover up her non-death? In noir world, detective Toby floated this possibility. While this seems a little convoluted even for Ali, it's possible she manipulated the situation in the past so that Spencer or the other Liars inadvertently helped keep her secret without even knowing it.

Is she setting up the Liars for something bad? Spencer accused Ali of this in noir verse, and we can't help but wonder if it's true. The clips we've seen of Ali on the run make it seem like she really is scared and desperate, but that doesn't mean she's totally innocent of bad intentions. We think it's very possible that she's using the Liars as bait to draw "A" out, or would at least be willing to put them in harm's way if it would help her.

What do you think: Is Ali manipulating the Liars, or can she be trusted? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
