By now, you’ve probably heard the news that Ravenswood, the Pretty Little Liars supernatural spin-off, has been cancelled. What does this mean for the future of Tyler Blackburn (Caleb), who left Pretty Little Liars to headline the show? Is Caleb returning to Rosewood?

According to Zap2it, a source at ABC Family said Pretty Little Liars hopes to have Tyler return to the cast. Cue celebratory cheers! As sad as we are to see Ravenswood go, while most cancellations spell the end of the story for all of its characters, we’ll most likely still get to hang with Caleb in Rosewood. So at least there’s a silver lining to this particular television cancellation.

If Caleb does return to Pretty Little Liars, it will be interesting to see how his storyline is integrated back into the show. While not so much has changed in Rosewood that his return would feel stilted, his character motivations for returning are strange. Though Hanna is decidedly a motivating factor, would he leave Ravenswood and his new friends there to deal with The Curse on their own? Especially if leaving means that Miranda stay a ghost forever? Caleb isn’t the type to turn his back on friends whom need his help. Hopefully, Pretty Little Liars will be able to reintegrate Caleb back into the fold in a way that both respects the show and Caleb’s character.

Too bad the same can’t be said for the new characters we’ve met in the Ravenswood world. We admit that the series was nowhere near as compelling as Pretty Little Liars, but we’re sad to see some of these characters go. Maybe there’s a chance they will get a short farewell on Pretty Little Liars to give the audience and characters some sort of closure. Fingers crossed!

Do you want Caleb to return to Pretty Little Liars? Would you like to see the other Ravenswood characters’ storylines wrapped up in some way, as well? Sound off in the comments below!
