On tonight's Pretty Little Liars Season 4, Episode 20 ("Free Fall") Ezra (Ian Harding) revealed his deep dark secret to Aria (Lucy Hale): He's been researching and writing a true crime book about Alison, who he did once date (though he thought that she was older than she was). But is this really the full story? Does it mean he's not "A"?

Well, according to showrunner Marlene King, no, no, he is not.

"Ezra is not 'A,' but he is a pretty little liar," Marlene told E!. That said, Aria does, correctly, see the fact that Ezra has been lying to her their whole relationship as a serious betrayal, and Marlene teases that there are still a lot of question's about Ezra's motivations. "Was he doing this for greed? Did this turn into something else? Was he helping the girls ultimately?"

Executive producer Oliver Goldstick also spoke to E! at length, dishing that Ezra's feelings for Aria were "real." He had a real conflict of interest: "He is somebody who has ambition, and then somehow this poor person that he loves now has been crushed under the wheels of it."
