We were totally disappointed by Paige’s (Lindsey Shaw) actions in last night’s Pretty Little Liars’. She followed Emily (Shay Mitchell), made her choose between helping Alison and staying together, and gave the police an anonymous tip that Ali was still alive. It was like a desperate decisions hat trick. Can Paily survive Paige’s betrayal?

Yes, if Paige Comes Clean soon

We understand Paige’s motivations. She wants to keep Emily safe, to protect her from Alison and “A” (jury’s still out on whether they are, in fact, the same person). But, you don’t do that by forcing someone not to see their former best friend and crush, who also happens to be on the run for her life. It seemed that Paige’s decisions were at least partially motivated by jealousy. She (justifiably) hated Ali, and she knows that Emily loved her. If Paige is honest with herself about where at least some of her motivation is coming from, and is honest with Emily about what she has done sooner rather than later, these two might stand a chance.

No, Emily Will Never Forgive Her

In last night’s episode, Emily flat-out told Paige that, if Paige went to the police and Ali suffered for it, she would never forgive her. Paige promptly tipped the police off. We totally understand where Paige is coming from. She thinks Ali is manipulating Emily, and that Em has a blind spot when it comes to her first crush and Paige might be right. But that doesn’t mean Emily will forgive Paige for her betrayal, after she explicitly asked Paige not to tell the police. It might not be fair, but Emily can be bullheaded when she wants to be. We can’t help but think that the fate of Paily’s relationship depends on whether Ali is telling the truth about the danger she’s in and the help she needs from the Liars. If Ali is using Emily and the other Liars like she used to, then Paily might have a chance. But, if she is genuine in everything she’s said since her return from the dead, we can’t help but think this is the beginning of the end for Paily.
