Someone in the Pretty Little Liars art department needs to re-watch the pilot! One eagle-eyed fan noticed a major error on one of the pages of Ezra’s (Ian Harding) notes about the Liars. What is it?

As you can see in this photo (via Pretty Little Liars Theories), one of Ezra’s notes about Aria (Lucy Hale) clearly reads: “3 years spent in Iceland with her family.” However, Aria and the Montgomerys only spent one year in Iceland — the year between when Alison went missing and when her body was discovered (which, we’ve always considered quite suspicious). Byron Montgomery was there on sabbatical, and he took his family with him, partially as  his own reaction to an extramarital affair he was having with one of his grad students. Ezra first met Aria right after she had returned from this trip. When he “runs into her” at the Hollis College bar, she says she’s just returned from Iceland, which he already knows.

There’s a chance that this is a mistake Ezra made and not the Pretty Little Liars production team, but we doubt it. Ezra put a lot of research into the Liars, and this is a major detail. If Aria had been in Iceland for three years, she wouldn’t have even been around to be friends with the Liars, which means it’s most likely a production fail. We suppose they’re allowed one every once-in-a-while. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first sloppy mistake Ezra made. Could the producers be trying to tell us something about Ezra’s sleuthing skills?

Regardless of who made the error, if it weren’t for how amazingly thorough PLL fans were, it probably never would have been caught!

Do you think this is an honest mistake on the part of the PLL production team, or was it done on purpose? Sound off in the comments below!
