We’re going to be very surprised if someone doesn’t have a twin on Pretty Little Liars. Popular theory leans towards a genetic duplicate for Alison DiLaurentis, but what if it is actually CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray) who has a lookalike sister? And what if it is CeCe twin who is buried in Ali’s grave.

In the most recent episode of Pretty Little Liars, we learned that Mrs. DiLaurentis paid CeCe off for something around the time of Ali’s disappearance. In the ep, it’s implied that it was to keep quiet about Spencer’s involvement in Alison’s disappearance, but that doesn’t make much sense. If Spencer hurt Ali, why would Mrs. D. want to keep quiet about it? We think Mrs. D.’s hush money was for something else. But what could Mrs. D. possibly need from CeCe?

One of the biggest and most unsettling unanswered questions surrounding Ali’s fake death remains: if Ali isn’t in her own grave, than whose corpse is it? It would have had to be someone who died around the same time as Alison allegedly did, and someone who could be mistaken for Alison. We know that CeCe (or, perhaps, her twin) once dressed up as Alison at Radley and was so convincing that Radley actually called Mrs. D. to have them come pick up her daughter. Did this incident give. Mrs. DiLaurentis — or Alison — the idea to use CeCe’s twin in her fake death? Either way, it proves that CeCe’s twin could be confused with Alison.

This theory becomes more likely when we take into account the major incident Radley is trying to hide. What is worse than the untimely death of one of their own charges — or someone who is playing at being a patient and died on their property? If something happened to CeCe’s twin at Radley, perhaps on the same night Marion Cavanaugh died, then they would have done anything to keep it quiet. Such as pay Detective Wilden to change the police report details, and pay CeCe off to stay quiet about what happened to her sister. As a board member at Radley, Mrs. D. would have likely been directly involved in this process.

From there, Mrs. DiLaurentis would have had to get rid of the body. Did Alison see where her mother buried CeCe’s twin’s body and commandeer it for her own use? Or was Mrs. DiLaurentis in on Ali’s fake death. We’re inclined to believe the former. We don’t think Mrs. D. knows that Ali is actually alive, but we can understand how the dual burdens of covering up a young girl’s death and the tragedy of her own daughter’s untimely passing would break her. Perhaps, she even sees Alison’s alleged death as retribution for the part she played in covering up someone else’s daughter’s death.

Do you think CeCe’s twin is the corpse in Alison’s grave? If not, who is it? Sound off in the comments below!
