Ella Montgomery (Holly Marie-Combs) is back in tonight’s episode of Pretty Little Liars — and she is “hiding something.” Color us intrigued! What could Aria’s mom be keeping from everybody?

She’s married. It would be a shame to have an episode in which everyone is dressed up in wedding gowns, and to have no one get married. Ella’s been off in Europe with her hunky baker boyfriend Zack. Show of hands: who thinks they were swept up in the romance of it all and got engage and/or married. It’s hard to imagine Ella getting married without her children there, but Aria did encourage her to be crazy and wild and in love. Maybe she went with it.

She’s pregnant. Another likely theory is that Ella might have a bun in the oven (there’s a Muffin Man reference somewhere in there). If you believe that Ella wouldn’t want to get re-married without her children there, then this might be your theory (not that the two are mutually exclusive). We like this one because you just know that “A” has been looking for a baby to use as a figurative (or literal) hostage against the Liars. And, finally, she has one! This could also be total thematic foreshadowing for the reveal of our theory that Alison may have had a baby in her disappearance.

She saw Ali the night she disappeared. Of course, near the end of the season, most secrets relate back to the “A” game and the big mystery of the season. In this case, that mystery is what happened the night Alison disappeared. Does Ella know something about that night? Given that Alison seemed to run into everyone she’s ever met on the day of her disappearance, we wouldn’t be surprised if Aria’s mom also happened to see Ali that day. We know Ali was blackmailing Aria’s father for money in exchange for not telling Ella the secret of his extramarital affair. Did Alison plan on following through on that threat when Byron refused to keep paying her? Did she go to see Ella, only to chicken out at the last second? Admit it: you’re totally digging this theory.
