Who is “A”? Here are some hints from Season 4, Episode 23: “Unbridled,” that may help us solve this thing for good!

4. Aria Montgomery

Why she might be “A”: We have a pretty solid hunch that the yet-to-be-revealed person who bumps into the Liars at the end of the episode is Noel Kahn. And given that Aria and Noel have romantic history, we kinda wonder if Noel is helping Ali out because he knows that Aria is “A.” Plus, Spencer finds a strip of photos in the car, and we know that Aria is all about photography.

Why she might not be “A”: Aria spends pretty much the entire episode in hysterics about how her mom is in a happy relationship and she isn’t. That isn’t a very “A”-like way to behave.

3. Wren Kingston

Why he might be “A”: Upon learning that Jason DiLaurentis hasn’t actually been in rehab, we immediately wondered if he was spending time with Wren, given that Jason’s sis, Melissa, is with Wren in London. Maybe they’re all in cahoots? We also know that Toby’s letter was postmarked in London last week, which continues to make us wonder if Toby has indeed discovered that Wren is “A.”

Why he might not be “A”: Well, he hasn’t been on the show at all in the winter season, which makes us wonder if he’s still a vital part of the show. That said, his prescription pad did show up recently, so maybe he’s closer than we think.

2. Spencer Hastings

Why she might be “A”: This is Spencer’s first time making the top four on our list this season! Uh, congrats? But the possibility that Spencer has an evil twin is suddenly making her a viable candidate. Wouldn't it be crazy if the person in the mask in the finale promo turns out to look exactly like Spence? And there are clearly a lot of bad vibes between Spencer and Ali, based on the flashback scenes.

Why she might not be: Spencer has recently been targeted by “A” more than any of the other Liars. Would Spencer really put finger bones in her own corset, or dirt in her own bed?

1. Alison DiLaurentis

Why she might be “A”: Ali is back atop the list for the first time in a while. The fact that Mrs. Hastings even mentions the word “twin” seems to suggest that someone on the show has a twin, and the most likely candidate is Ali. We see Ali’s mom with a suitcase in the woods, and we can imagine her packing that for either Ali or her twin. And “A” calls the cops on CeCe at the end, which would be totally up Ali’s alley.

Why she might not be “A”: Ali is seeming to be more and more vulnerable, as she frantically tells to her mom in the flashback scene about the anonymous messages. But there’s nothing vulnerable about “A.”
