Warning: this article contains spoilers for the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 finale.

Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty) has been a part of Pretty Little Liars since the beginning, but it wasn’t until tonight’s Season 4 finale that we learned of his true importance: he has been helping Ali (Sasha Pieterse). Here’s what we found out in tonight’s episode...

We’re not sure how long Noel has been assisting the Liars’ fake-dead friend, but in tonight’s episode alone, he made a rendezvous between the Liars and Ali possible and gave Alison cash, a passport, and a plane ticket to make her getaway on the chance the Liars didn’t figure out who “A” was before the night’s end. And — let’s be honest — there was never a very big chance of that happening. He also kept the Liars’ phones and presumably drove Spencer’s car away so that no one would be able to track their whereabouts. Well, no one but “A” of course. Damn “A” and his/her super GPS that probably tracks Hanna’s tooth or something.

Can we assume that Noel has been helping Alison with her travel plans from the beginning? It’s hard to say — but we’ve always had our suspicions that Noel knew more about Alison’s disappearance than he was letting on. When the Liars questioned Ali about her allegiance with him, she said that she can trust him because he has secrets, too. What are those secrets? Is that the only reason he is helping her? Because we’re totally rooting for an epic love affair between Alison and Noel. Make it happen, show.

Why do you think Noel is helping Ali? What is his secret? Is it the intensity of his love for Alison? Sound off in the comments below!
