All praise the TV gods! Homeschooled nerd Lucas (Brendan Robinson) will be returning to Pretty Little Liars in Season 5. What else do we know about Lucas’ long-awaited return?

The latest clue on pllsneakpeek.com is a message directly from Pretty Little Liars mastermind Marlene King. According to Marlene, Season 5 is “a season of reunions and homecomings and now that Ali's back, an army will be mobilized, but 'A's' not in it. Lucas will leave his bunk beds and head back to Rosewood High, and an unexpected 'PLL' will spiral with her boyfriend.”

So, it doesn’t give us too much Lucas intel, other than the fact that Lucas will be abandoning his homeschooling ways and returning to Rosewood High. We’re not sure that’s the wisest idea — Lucas’ choice to homeschool was one of the smartest decisions made on this insane show. Unless it has something to do with Alison? Word on the street is that she will be reintegrating into her hometown come Season 5. Does his return have anything to do with her? They were never exactly the best of friends – in fact, Ali bullied him incessantly and cruelly. Might they have become friends in his absence? It wouldn’t be the only friend Ali seemed to randomly pick up during her time as a runaway (we’re looking at you, Noel Kahn).

Conversely, Lucas’ return could have something to do with an allegiance to “A” — or, perhaps, he even is “A.” It didn’t escape our notice in last night’s episode that Lucas was one of the only characters not accounted for the night of Ali’s disappearance. Now, Mona seemed to have her own “A” thing going on, but that doesn’t mean Lucas wasn’t also in on the scheme (and continued it when Mona could not). After all, they two of Ali’s favorite targets for bullying. Did they join forces to take her down a notch (or a hundred)? Is Lucas still at it?

Are you excited to hear Lucas is coming back? Sound off in the comments below!
