Pretty Little Liars has cast its new pretty little swimmer, and it’s a young TV actress with which we are already well acquainted! According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role has gone to Chloe Bridges who is perhaps best known for her role as recurring character Donna Ladonna on The CW’s The Carrie Diaries. Who is Chloe’s character and when will she make her Rosewood debut?

Chloe will be playing Sydney Driscoll, the beautiful new member of the Rosewood swim team. (Seriously, is anyone on this swim team anything short of gorgeous?) She will first be appearing in  Season 5, Episode 3,  and will become friendly with Emily (Shay Mitchell). How will this effect Emily’s relationships with the other women in her life — her ex-girlfriend Paige and ex-crush Alison? Well, Shay told E! Online: "For the Paige and Emily fans, I would say to hold tight,” Shay divulged. “Nothing's ever said and done. And I will say to the Emison fans, you never know what could happen again. So stay tuned."

We’re excited to meet Sydney; Emily’s potential love interests are always the best (Claire Holt, anyone?). We also wonder how or if she will fit into the “A” game, and if this means Emily is back on the swim team. Last time we checked, the shoulder injury she sustained when “A” was trying to run her and her friends over had kept her from swimming competitively for the foreseeable future. Is the foreseeable future over?

We’re also glad to see Chloe cast in the role. We love her on The Carrie Diaries, and she’s demonstrated herself as an able actress across a whole host of roles. She’s also appeared in the films Mantervention, Queen Freak, and Nightlight,  and as a series regular on ABC's Freddie. It will be interesting to see what she brings to Pretty Little Liars.
