The Pretty Little Liars production team is hard at work on Season 5, which means details about what we can expect from upcoming installments. Like episode titles! What is the second episode of the fifth season called, and what can we glean from it? Read on to find out!

According to this tweet from @AllThingsPLL, Season 5, Episode 2 will be called “Whirly Girl.” At first, we thought this was a play on the spinning pinwheels known as whirligigs — until we found out PLLer Julian Morris (Wren Kingston) starred in the film of the same name! This can’t just be a coincidence, right? Could it be a clue as to Wren’s greater involvement in the “A” plot? Does this mean he will appear in the episode? Or are we just crazy people?

Whirlygirl, the 2006 film, is about an exotic dancer named Alice who travels to all-male schools to entertain their students at parties. Julian’s character, James, is at such a party. Alice steals his father’s watch, he tracks her down to retrieve it, and the two form a connection. The remainder of the film follows the development of their relationship.

Could something similar have happened with Wren’s character? Did he form a relationship with Ali, adding another older man to her list of conquests? Did he track her down following her disappearance from Rosewood, perhaps because she had stolen from him, only to fall in love with her? Or could this storyline be applied to Ali and another character? Would Pretty Little Liars really go this meta?

Of course, the “Whirly Girl” title could just be a metaphor. Alison is returning to Rosewood in Season 5 and trying to reintegrate into life there. We imagine the process will be thoroughly overwhelming, especially in the wake of her mother’s murder. Is Ali a “whirly girl” in the sense that she has lost all bearings? Or is there more to this intriguing title?
