The Season 5 premiere of Pretty Little Liars is still months away, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have any idea of what it will look like. Director Norman Buckley has given us many a sneak peek at the season opener. Check out his latest!

“Watching my #PLL 501 Director’s cut. Such a beautiful episode! Thanks Larry, Fred, Bob and entire crew. Airs on June 10,” Norman captioned the photo he posted on his blog. In it, we see a silhouetted shot of what looks like Alison (Sasha Pieterse), with vibrant blue shadows in the background. It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on in this scene, but Norman is right: it’s beautiful.

We imagine Ali will play a large role in Season 5, Episode 1 (“EscApe From New York”). Not only has she been featured in many of Norman’s photos from the set, but we know that she will be reintegrating into Rosewood (or, at least, trying) in the upcoming season. We’re sure the Liars will still be the focus of the show, but in many ways this feels like Ali’s story right now. The primary question: Where does she go from here?

Of course, we doubt Ali will have that much time for existential crises with “A” still on the prowl. Though he/she failed to take out Ali or whoever his/her intended target was in the Season 4 finale (unless it was Ezra, in which case: well done, you!), “A” is never one to stay quiet for long. The masked villain will most likely regroup and have another attack planned as soon as Ali crosses the Rosewood town limits.

What do you think is going down in the scene from Norman’s photo? Share your theories in the comments below!
