The Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premiere is one month away, but we’re going to have to wait  a little longer than that to see Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) back together on screen. Caleb is returning for Season 5, Episode 5 — aka the 100th episode — but that doesn’t mean everything will be hunky dory between these two. What did Pretty Little Liars producer Joseph Dougherty tell E! Online about Haleb Season 5?

A lot has changed for both Hanna and Caleb since they were last together, and it sounds like those changes will affect these PLLers relationship: "Hanna's look is going to be adjusted, Hanna's attitude is going to be adjusted. Caleb and Hanna have both changed, and they've both had experiences that the other one is un-privy to," Joseph teased. "And in both cases for their experiences, they really aren't at liberty to discuss it, and they're both personally under a lot of stress inside. So I think both of them are kind of looking to the other to kind of say, ‘Take me back to that safe place where I once was before.'"

This sounds... promising? We know these two still love one another, but they have a lot to work through before they can get back to the place where they once were, or, more accurately, a new place that works for the new them. There are also a number of complications for a romantic Haleb reunion in the forms of Travis, Hanna’s current boyfriend, and (apparently) Ali. Word on the street is that Caleb and Ali will share some unexpectedly chemistry when they meet, and they might even share a kiss. Will this potential smooch be part of a larger scheme à la the kiss between Mona and Caleb, or will it be something more?

Whatever path these two characters take, we’re glad to hear that they’re both “looking to the other.” That sounds like a good place to start.

Do you think these two crazy kids will be able to work it out? Sound off in the comments below!
