The parentals on Pretty Little Liars tend to pop up only to worry about their children, so what might it mean that Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) mom, Pam (Nia Peeples) Fields, is back on set? We speculate below!

“Back on the set of #pll. Left the house at 4:30am. #glamorous ! Ha!” Nia tweeted earlier today, cluing us in to a future Season 5 appearance from Pam Fields. Last time we saw the worrisome mom, she was confronting Emily about the pain pill-induced swimming accident she got into, getting in trouble at the police station for losing keys Emily actually stole, and living out of a motel while the Fields house is renovated following “A”’s car crash into their living room. We can only imagine what her presence might mean this time.

If we were Pam Fields, we’d be a little worried about Emily, too. Sure, Em has a good head on her shoulders and seems committed to the idea of volunteering for a year rather than going straight to college after high school graduation. However, she’s not only been the target of multiple attempts on her emotional and physical well-being, but her former bestie has just returned from the dead. Will Pam react to Ali’s return to Rosewood with excitement, concern, or a combination of the two? Will Pam have questions about the events that brought Emily and the other Liars to the NYC rooftop where Ezra got shot by a masked “A”? Were we Em’s parent, we might be sitting her down for a long heart-to-heart. Not that that has ever worked for the Liars’ parents before. These girls know how to keep a secret, amirite?

What do you think Pam’s presence means for Emily in Season 5? How do you think she will react to the return of Alison? Sound off in the comments below!

Catch the Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premiere on Tuesday, June 10 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
