Alison is officially back in Rosewood, and the Liars are trying to wrap their heads around their new reality in Season 5, Episode 2 of Pretty Little Liars, titled “Whirly Girlie.”

ABC Family recently released the official synopsis for the episode, and it sounds like Alison’s homecoming is only going to make things more complicated for the Liars. The synopsis reads: “With the events of New York behind them and back in Rosewood, the Liars are unsettled to still be living under a cloud of secrets. Aria is haunted by the recent past events, while Emily, Hanna and Spencer try to wrap their head around the new normal.”

The Liars are very different than they were two years ago when Ali disappeared, so naturally, there’s going to be some mixed feelings. On one hand, they’re happy to have found Ali alive, but on the other, are they really ready to let Alison back into their lives? And what will happen when they do? Things can’t possibly go back to how they were — can they? And poor Aria. It sounds like she’s going to be haunted by Ezra’s shooting and its aftermath.

As for Alison, it sounds like she’s not going to be getting much sleep back at the DiLaurentis home. She’s “still sleeping with one eye open as she is forced to stay at home with her family – who she doesn’t trust.” This means that Ali’s dad Kenneth DiLaurentis and her older brother Jason will both be back in Episode 2. Unfortunately, it sounds like this family reunion will be anything but happy, especially with Mrs. DiLaurentis still “missing.”

According to the synopsis, “Jason’s odd behavior and Kenneth DiLaurentis’ search for Jessica starts to raise eyebrows about her disappearance.” So it sounds like Mrs. D’s body hasn’t been found yet. Something tells us that when her body does resurface, the Hastings are going to be suspects. After all, she was working with Detective Holbrook to have them investigated. Or will Alison be a suspect in her mother’s murder? We’ll have to wait to find out!
