Spoby! We’re hoping for more of it in Pretty Little Liars Season 5, and it sounds like the show will deliver. What did Troian Bellisario (Spencer) tell E! Online about the Spoby dynamic in Season 5? Read on to find out!

“I can definitely tease that I just came from a Toby [Keegan Allen] and Spencer scene today,” Troian said in her interview, which we think is an excellent start to any other possible scoop she could tease. As for what that scene might look like on the happy-to-heartbreaking spectrum, we’re not sure if Troian’s the one to tell us.

She had this to say about her Spoby-teasing skills from last season: “I totally forgot that Spencer and Toby were separated and were not doing too well, and then for all of the press for the end of Season 4, I was like, ‘Yeah, Spoby’s great. Blah, blah, blah.’ And then, eventually, someone was like, ‘You do know you guys are on the rocks?’ and I was like ‘Oh my god, right.’ Because we were already shooting other stuff.” Ha! We will admit: it’s hard to keep track of these things with the pace of Pretty Little Liars. We may be extra cautious of Troian’s Spoby teases moving forward, though.

But Troian did give some Spoby scoop, saying: “Spencer and Toby, they’re always [makes an up and down motion with her hands]. They’re very passionate people. They’re also very bizarre people. I think that’s why they fit together, so they’re always gonna kind of be like right on the same line with one another and be side by side, and then he’s gonna leave town and she’s gonna get mad. And then they’re gonna criss-cross again. That’s what always happens.”

Interesting. Does this mean Spencer is getting pissed at Toby in Season 5 for leaving town again? Or, perhaps, she has some questions about his random trip to London at the end of Season 4? (Get in line, Spence!) Whatever the answers to these questions, it sounds like we’ll be getting plenty of Spoby happiness and heartbreak in Season 5, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
