Long before the days of Rosewood and devilish folk named "A," Pretty Little Liars mastermind Marlene King crafted another female-centric story — the time-jumping 1995 film Now and Then.

But that was then and this is now, and the veteran TV producer says she's thinking of bringing the movie back to life — as a TV series.

In case you weren't an avid moviegoer two decades ago, Now and Then told the tale of four childhood friends at two stages in their lives — as teens in the '70s and as adults in the '90s.

Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Gabby Hoffman, and Ashleigh Aston Moore starred as the teens; and Rosie O'Donnell, Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, and Rita Wilson played their adult counterparts, respectively.

In a recent Reddit AMA, a fan asked if we'd ever see a follow-up to the film Marlene wrote all that time ago.

"We're talking about it," Marlene replied. "We're talking about Now and Then the TV series. ABC Family has shown a little bit of interest in that, so we're still talking about that. People tweet about this to me all the time; they'll even send me photos of themselves watching the movie on a Sunday afternoon."

Veteran Wetpaint Entertainment readers may remember that this isn't the first time that Marlene has broached the idea, but hey, we're patient fans!
