Andrew Campbell (Brandon W. Jones) may not be the most nefarious-seeming character on Pretty Little Liars, but that doesn’t mean we’re not giving him the side-eye when it comes to ferreting out possible “A” suspects. After all, Andrew’s nice-guy nerd persona would be the perfect public persona for “A.” Who would suspect him?

Brandon thinks so, too. When recently asked on Twitter who he thinks “A” is, Brandon awesomely responded: Nobody knows! Maybe it's Andrew! I mean... His name does start with an A... #PLL #whoisA.” Here are three clues Brandon might be “A”...

He’s Super Smart

This is a dude who can give Spencer a run for her money in the brains department and that’s saying something. Whoever “A” is, he or she has to be mega-smart to pull off the kind of stunts the villain has. We’re talking tech-savvy, the ultimate multi-tasker, and emotionally-intelligent to boot! We think Andrew checks all three of those boxes, with extra intelligence and energy to spare.

He Has a Mona Connection

In third season, Mona and Andrew served on the Academic Decathlon team together. Though Andrew may have implied to Spencer that he wasn’t the biggest Mona fan, can we really trust this character we barely know at his word? Perhaps, Mona and Andrew are buddies (because of their “A” game connection). Or, perhaps, they really aren’t friends, but Andrew still manipulated Mona onto the team to push Spencer over the edge in the wake of the Toby betrayal. (Spoiler: it totally worked.)

He Fueled Spencer’s Study Pill Addiction

Speaking of pushing Spencer over the edge, Andrew was one of the people who helped Spence get her hands on more study pills as she spiraled back into addiction last season. At the time, we wrote Andrew’s “help” off as a misguided attempt at being a good friend/Spencer’s manipulation of Andrew’s crush on her. Now, we’re not so sure. Was Andrew as “A” the one manipulating Spencer, fueling the mania that so very nearly sent her over the edge again?

Do you think Andrew could be “A”? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below!
