This episode was a lot stronger than the premiere. We love that one of the first things Ali did was tell a big lie that threw a wrench in every plan. Did she really do it to protect Aria, or does she have another motive? We have a feeling that's the question we'll be asking all season, and it's great. It gets to the heart of the problem with Alison: We don't know if she's changed or not. Having her back and causing trouble brings a fresh new dynamic to the show.
All of the emotional scenes this week hit the right notes. We loved the various scenes with the Liars and their parents, and how incredulous the parents were that their daughters would have kept such a big secret. We loved Spencer's anger at Ali's lie, and also Emily trying to reach out to a hurting Aria, since now they have both killed someone in self defense.
And to top it off, there was a lot of interesting mystery stuff here, too. We learn that, at least according to Toby, he never saw Melissa in London. One of them is lying, and we have a feeling it's Melissa. And then there was Jason, who took his creepster level to the max. But is he really bad, or is that too obvious at this point? We can't wait to see that play out.
Plus, the episode ended on a great note, with Mrs. D's body being found, and Ali's totally ambitious reaction to that. OMG. Is it next week yet?
We give it five stars! What did you think?
