The 100th episode of Pretty Little Liars left us asking if Ali (Sasha Pieterse) truly cares about Emily (Shay Mitchell), or if her apparent feelings for the Liar are pure manipulation. Sasha shared her perspective on the sensitive situation with TV Fanatic. What did the actress reveal?

Sasha seems to think Ali’s true motives are somewhere in the middle, admitting: “I think Alison did play with her and manipulated the situation before and the fact that Emily really had feelings for her but now everything’s kind of shifted I wouldn’t even say that I think she’s confused. I think she just really cares about Emily and this new form of love that they have for each other. But there are so many complications with it, too. You’ve got Paige and she’s got all this stuff going on and Alison’s just getting used to being home and the girls getting used to her being home, so there’s a lot of emotions at stake.”

It sounds to us like Sasha believes that Ali’s feelings for Emily are true, but also convenient. Having Emily as an ally in the battle against Mona, “A”, and whomever else might be out to get Ali cannot be undervalued. Em is strong and loyal. Who wouldn’t want her at her side? Sasha went on to say that the 100th episode romance was “a long time coming” and “a really sweet moment” for Emison. It also sounds like there will be more confusion when it comes to Alison’s character and her true motives in upcoming episodes. The PLLer teased: “It will be interesting to see what the fans think about everything that’s coming up next.” Eek! We are so there.

Do you think Ali’s feelings for Emily are authentic or do you think she is just manipulating her former bestie? Sound off in the comments below!
