In the promo for Season 5, Episode 11 (“No One Here Can Love or Understand Me”), Emily shows Ezra a photo of what looks like Caleb and Alison meeting up. Is Caleb working with Ali? We speculate below.
Yes, they met up in Ravenswood. Though we watched all of Ravenswood, that doesn’t mean we should assume we know everything about Caleb’s time away from Rosewood. After all, last time we checked (within the context of the narrative), we thought he was planning on staying Ravenswood even longer. What made him change his mind? Could it have been Alison, who has connections to Ravenswood through Mrs. Grunwald? Did she convince Caleb to come back to Rosewood to help herself and the other Liars? It certainly seems possible, especially given that long look Ali and Caleb shared upon their supposed first meeting, and Ali’s habit of meeting a mystery someone after dark since her return. We think there might be more to their relationship than meets the eye.
No, he’s just freaking about about Ravenswood. Caleb has enough secrets without adding Ali’s to his plate. He still hasn’t told Hanna what really went down in Ravenswood, and we think that might be the tension we’re sensing in the possibly intentionally misleading promo. Later in the promo, we see Hanna confronting a packing Caleb in his cabin. “Going somewhere?” she asks him. We also see a shot of Hanna waking Caleb from a bad dream. We think this might finally be the episode Caleb opens up about that time he battled a town of murderous ghosts, which means it’s probably someone else in that fuzzy surveillance photo of Ali and a mystery man.
No, but they did meet up while he was away. Caleb really seems to dislike Ali. Sure, that could just be because of everything she’s put the Liars through, but what if there is more to the story? What if Ali and Caleb did meet up while they were both away and Ali did something to seriously piss Caleb off? It’s certainly her style.
