The Pretty Little Liars summer finale is only one episode away, which means PLL has a lot of explaining to do if we are going to be satisfied over the mid-season hiatus. Here are five answers we want answered in Season 5, Episode 12 (“Taking This One to the Grave”).
What is Melissa hiding? Listen, folks. We’re not ones to generally get in-between Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) and her secrets, but PLL has been teasing us with this all season. What did Melissa whisper into her father’s ear in the Season 4 finale? Did she kill Bethany Young? How is she protecting Spencer (Troian Bellisario)? We have a feeling we might get a few clues in this week’s penultimate ep, we just better get the whole Melissa Hastings truth by the end of the summer finale. Bonus points if Melissa survives telling it.
Does Alison have a twin? This is kind of a big one, but we think it may be time for PLL to finally drop the veil concerning the twin theory. They’ve been hinting at it heavily, most especially with the reappearance of Vivian Darkbloom in the last episode. Alison (Sasha Pieterse) has always seemed unpredictable, and this seems the likely answer. We want to know once and for all: does Ali have a twin. (Disclaimer: If she doesn’t have a twin, this would be a weird fact for Ali to slip into conversation — i.e. “Have I ever mentioned the time I didn’t have a twin, girls?”)
Who killed Bethany Young? But, really. Despite Aria's (Lucy Hale) undercover operation, we know next to nothing about this girl and how she is connected to the other murders in this town. Was she in the wrong place at the wrong time, or did someone set out to kill her? Either way, whodunnit?
Who killed Mrs. DiLaurentis? We’re equally intrigued by Mrs. D.’s murder, especially given its apparent connection to the Hastings family. We have a feeling there is a delicious backstory in here somewhere and we’re just dying to figure out what it is. Did a Hastings kill Mrs. DiLaurentis? Or was it one of her own family members, or someone else entirely?
What does “A” want? “A”’s game has been inconsistent this season. We haven’t minded much because Ali’s return has churned up tons of delicious drama. But that doesn’t mean we don’t want a little more structure to this current “A”. What is she planning? Who is she after (i.e. just Ali, the Liars, or the entirety of Rosewood)? And how is she connected to the Bethany/Mrs. DiLaurentis fiasco? OK, there might be more than one question we want answered in there…
