Last night, we finally found out what Holden’s (Shane Coffey) deep, dark secret is on Pretty Little Liars Season 2, Episode 20: “CTRL: A.” And it was...not quite the whopper we’ve come to expect from PLL.

Holden told Aria (Lucy Hale) at school that he practices a Korean form of martial arts called Tang Soo Do. He fights competitively with what appeared to be some kind of intense combat league for kids (only with fancy, sparkling white costumes!).

Of course, we also found out via Ella (Holly Marie Combs) that Holden suffers from a pretty serious heart condition, which provokes Aria to look after him at his fight, rather than stuff herself silly with vegan French food (and Ezra).

Essentially, one of the biggest mysteries of the season has been solved. So why do we feel so deflated? How did Holden’s character and story line enhance the Little Liars’ story? If he has nothing to do with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) or “A,” then why spend precious screen time on his medical problems? We already know how compassionate Aria is, and we didn’t need a pop-up childhood friend with a bad heart to remind us.

You tell us: Are you disappointed with Holden’s big secret?
