Aria (Lucy Hale) might appear to be sweet and innocent on the surface, but don’t let that fool you she can be as sassy as anyone on Pretty Little Liars! And that’s just one reason why we love her so much. So here are the top 10 Aria-isms from the first half of Season 3. Let’s just hope she doesn’t have to crush anyone’s scones anytime soon.

10. Aria: [about her dad’s new after-shave] “He smells like baby wipes.” (From Season 3, Episode 4: “Birds of a Feather”)
Not exactly a major turn-on.

9. Aria [to Hanna]: “Friends don’t let friends sneak into insane asylums alone.” (From Season 3, Episode 7: “Crazy”)
Not particularly universal advice, but helpful when the right situation arises.

8. Aria [to Spencer, about borrowing her clothes]: “I want something classy but not frumpy not that you have frumpy.” (From Season 3, Episode 8: “Stolen Kisses”)
Let’s face it: Aria and Spencer will never see eye-to-eye fashion-wise.

7. Aria: “I don’t care if I have to scale the walls I am talking to [Mona] today.” (From Episode 7: “Crazy”)
Aria channels her inner Spider-Man.

6. Aria [to Ezra]: “Your family doesn’t have money your family has money.” (From Episode 8: “Stolen Kisses”)
It’s all in how you say it.

5. Aria [about Jenna]: “Is it just me, or is she blinder than she was last year?” (From Season 3, Episode 2: “Blood Is the New Black”)
Jenna might not be the most skilled thespian in the world.

4. Hanna: “What’s up with your mom?”
Aria: “She’s a slut. Let’s just go to sleep.” (From Episode 7: “Crazy”)
We think Aria meant to use Mona’s code and say, “She’s a ‘She Lives Under Trees.’”

3. Aria [to Spencer]: “Why are you not all ‘Go-Go Gadget’ about this?” (From Season 3, Episode 9: “The Kahn Game”)
Much like Dr. Claw in Inspector Gadget, we can picture “A” laughing maniacally while stroking a striped cat.

2. Aria [about Jenna]: “Don't look at me! I'm ready to hang a sign: 'Bitch can see!'” (From Episode 2: “Blood is the New Black”)
As far as signs go, this one wouldn’t be quite as friendly as, say, “Home Sweet Home.”

1. Aria [to Zach, about her mom]: “If you hurt her, I will crush your scones.” (From Season 3, Episode 10: “What Lies Beneath”)
Aria is quite adept at anatomical wordplay.

Don’t miss the next new episode of PLL, the Halloween special, on Tuesday, October 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
