Spoiler alert: This article talks about who "A" is on Pretty Little Liars. If you haven't seen the episode and don't want to know click away now!
Okay. So, now we know Mona (Janel Parrish) was "A" on Pretty Little Liars (even if there were also hints that she's working with or for other people), and our automatic reaction was to try to figure out all the clues sprinkled throughout the show that it was her.
Sadly, we haven't had time to review every episode in detail since finding out the truth tonight (what? We're only human), but here are the biggest clues that stick out in our minds now that we know the truth:
She hated Ali: Mona may claim to be over Alison (Sasha Pieterse) now, but we can see why she would have targeted Ali originally. And in the Halloween episode, we saw that even back when she was meek, shy Mona, she had fight (remember when she befriended Jenna [Tammin Sursok]?)
Her mad hacker skillz: Mona revealed that she had some unexpected hacking skills when she broke into the principle's computer files for Emily (Shay Mitchell). That skill-set definitely raised some eyebrows at the time. We guess it all makes sense, now.
Her multiple phones: She just conveniently had an extra phone when Hanna (Ashley Benson) needed one? Yeah, sure.
The Caleb kiss: The scene where "A" "forced" Mona and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) to make out in the car was definitely supposed to make the Liars think Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) was "A," but we noted at the time Mona was there, too. Very tricky, Mona.
"A" texted her, too: While the Liars aren't the only ones "A" ever contacted, Mona was the only non-Liar "A" targeted consistently. Of course, now we know that was all faked, probably to get the Liars to trust her more.
"A" harassed Hanna the most: Remember when "A" targeted Hanna in increasingly cruel and twisted ways? Now that we know Mona was angriest at Hanna, "A"'s obsession with her makes sense. It also makes sense that Mona turned her sights on Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and challenged her so much: It seems like she was almost testing her, to see if she was worthy of joining team "A." We're not sure why she was so mean to poor Emily (Shay Mitchell), though (unless that was coming from someone else's motivations...).
That PA system: Remember when Mona forced Hanna into going riding with Kate in Season 2, Episode 10: “Touched By an ‘A’-ngel,” and then the PA system conveniently turned on at just the wrong time? We wondered if Mona was less innocent than she seemed at the time. We guess the answer is yes.
The skinny dipping: Mona was conveniently skinny dipping at the same time Hanna got into a fight with Lucas (Brendan Robinson). Clearly not a coincidence.
This is hardly an exhaustive list. Feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments below!
