Shay Mitchell (Emily), Ashley Benson (Hanna), Lucy Hale (Aria), and Troian Bellisario (Spencer) are Pretty Little Liars. No really, they aren't just acting. The four girls have fibbed before (come on, who hasn't), but learned that lies always lead to trouble. If only their characters would catch on, then maybe they wouldn't deal with so much drama.
Shay Mitchell (Emily) told a huge lie as a teen that got her grounded. Her and friends told their parents they were sleeping over at each other’s houses when they were really out partying at a nightclub. They snuck in with fake IDs, but Shay’s dad found out and dragged them out of the club. Yikes, how embarrassing!
Ashley Benson (Hanna) also fibbed a lot growing up. She told Teen.com that she lied to her parents all the time about her schoolwork. She'd say she did all her assignments, when she really didn't.
Lucy Hale (Aria) hates lying, which is ironic since her character has some of the most scandalous secrets on the show. However, Lucy told OK magazine, “I can’t lie! I just feel so bad, like it’s heavy on my heart! I have to tell if I do something wrong. It’s kind of annoying. I wish I could just do something bad and not tell anyone, but it’s just not gonna happen!” It's good she has a conscience but everyone fibs once in a while. Lucy admitted to Hollywire that she wasn’t always honest with her mom growing up. Sometimes she lied about where she was going or who she was with.
Troian Bellisario (Spencer) also has trouble lying since it makes her feel guilty. She told Hollywire that she can lie to strangers all the time and put on fake accents, but she’s always honest with her family and friends.
