The cast and crew of Pretty Little Liars had to deal with a lot of fan emotions after finally revealing the identity of “A” on the Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”). But it seems that the most personal bursts of outrage, anger, and mystification were directed at “A” herself, Janel Parrish (Mona Vanderwall).

Janel told Z100’s Elvis Duran (via Celebuzz) that fans seemed to confuse her character with her, the actress, and took out their “A” anger on her via Twitter.

“I’ve been getting so many angry tweets lately,” she said. “I didn’t really do it!” Janel is referring, of course, to all of the evil, mean-girl behavior her character is guilty of on the show.

“I’ve gotten a lot of ‘how could you,’ ‘you bitch,’ ‘why did you do it?’” On one hand, fans probably need to take out their frustration somewhere, but we think Facebook fan pages may be the better way to do it.

And at least Janel isn’t letting the attacks phase her at all. “It’s amusing. I like it when fans get so into the show.”

We just hope that, whenever Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) murderer is revealed, crazy fans don’t try and pull a citizen’s arrest.

Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
