On Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 4: “Birds of a Feather” we were introduced to a new character, Maya's (Bianca Lawson) cousin, Nathan.

In the episode, Nate came across as a nice guy. He was sweet to Emily (Shay Mitchell), giving her the shirt from Maya and trying to help her work through her feelings. He seemed sad about Maya's death, and, on the surface, appears to be the perfect person to help Emily began to heal from her loss.

That said, this is Rosewood. Everybody has a secret in this town, and we're not convinced Nate is an exception. He claims to have been super close to Maya — close enough that she told him all about Emily — and yet Maya never said anything about having a cousin who was applying to Hollis? Why wouldn't he tell Maya that? Why wouldn't Maya tell Emily?

Honestly, we don't even have proof that Nate is Maya's cousin, other than his word. Of course, it might be preemptive to jump to a massive conspiracy about Nate faking his entire identity (though on PLL, you never know), but the point remains: We know nothing about this guy. We want to believe he's as nice as he seems, but we're not sure we can.

What do you think?
