Ian Thomas is free! Well, not really. But Ryan Merriman, who played Pretty Little Liars’ former resident evil in Rosewood, has been released from the Newport Beach, CA jail, where he was taken after being arrested on Sunday, November 6th.

Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to a Newport Beach Police Department spokesperson to get more details on the arrest, and subsequent release.

"An officer made a traffic stop on Mr Merriman's vehicle after he observed a traffic violation, and that violation was that he failed to stop before the limit line at a stop light,” the spokesperson said. “The officer made a traffic stop, and during that traffic stop assessed that Mr Merriman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, he did a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested him.

"He has been released [Monday] morning. He was arrested at approximately 11:30pm on Sunday evening, and he was released yesterday morning at about 9am,” they continued. “That's it. It was a pretty routine traffic stop that resulted in a DUI arrest."

They also informed us that the actor’s bail was set at $2,500.

With all the paranoia surrounding “A”’s identity, we can’t help feeling suspicious that this was a frame job. But “A” has since focused his or her evil on others since Ian’s death. Good luck in alcohol safety classes, Ryan!
