Welcome to Rosewood, the murder/fashion capital of the world! The little liars had our jaws dropping during their runway-turned-freak-show in Pretty Little Liars Season 2, Episode 6, “Never Letting Go.” Flossy outfits, crazy hair, killer make up — and, of course, an actual killer (what good catwalk doesn’t have one?). If you missed out on the most glamorous episode of PLL yet, catch up with Wetpaint Entertainment’s recap!
The little liars hang at Emily (Shay Mitchell)’s house and have some good old-fashioned girl talk about boys, lip-gloss, and the psycho-killer who’s stalking them. They realize that anyone could have murdered Alison (Sasha Pieterse) after she turned off the camera on the night she died — even “A”. But the girly fun gets interrupted when Aria (Lucy Hale) gets a phone call from Jason (Drew Van Acker) and scurries away to have an impromptu bonding sesh with him in his — wait for it — convertible. Because hanging with possible murderers in the middle of the night is always a good idea.
Aria’s determined to clear Jason’s name, so she tries to help him remember the night of Alison’s death by going through some photos of Ali with him. Unfortunately, Jason gets all troubled and brooding about the whole thing, and storms off in a huff. Sigh — studs! Can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em.
The fab four are finally in relationships at the same time, and things are especially hot ‘n’ heavy between Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen), who can barely keep their hands off each other! Too bad Spencer’s home life isn’t nearly as cozy as her love life. Her dad’s been having mysterious conversations with Alison’s mom, Jessica DiLaurentis, and things only get sketchier when Jess rolls into town and asks the girls to organize Rosewood’s annual fashion show on Ali’s behalf. Another memorial for Ali? The postmortem fun just don’t stop for this girl!
The liars are hesitant about fronting another one of Ali’s tributes, especially when they learn they’ll have to strut their stuff in her unused couture gowns. Spencer’s responsible for organizing the fashion show, but Mona (Janel Parrish) hijacks her job as committee chair and hires Noel (Brant Daugherty) to be the DJ! Oh dear.
Meanwhile, Samara stops by to deliver Emily's dress, and, to everyone’s surprise, she brings a hot date with her. Emily better make things official with her lady friend, before she loses her for good. Over at the Marins’, Hanna (Ashley Benson)’s dad is still hanging around Rosewood, and she’s starting to get suspicious. He keeps putting his plans to leave on hold, and Hanna thinks it’s because he’s still in love with her mom. Mr. Marin uses the fashion show as an excuse to extend his trip, and ends up slow dancing with Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton) before the event starts. Aww!
The little liars and a few other randoms (aka Mona) glam up the runway in Ali’s fiercest outfits. Just as we’re starting to think the most horrifying part of this catwalk is Aria’s ‘80s hair, “A” pulls off his/her biggest scheme yet and projects a picture of Alison’s face surrounded by flames on the catwalk backdrop. Oh, “A.” You just can’t resist, can you? In the immortal words of Madonna: “Strike a pose. Vogue, vogue, vogue, vogue. Run off the stage screaming while everything bursts into flames.” (We paraphrase.)
As the event empties out post-disastrous finale, Aria runs to the dressing room to grab her stuff when Noel shows up to give her the CD of the unplanned ending. Jason appears from the wings and breaks the disc in half with his man-muscles, and tells Aria that he’s in Rosewood to solve some mysteries of his own. Perhaps something to do with his mom’s relationship with Spence’s dad? Too many questions and not enough answers!
Meanwhile, Emily, Hanna and Spencer head to their respective homes where Hanna’s dad finally admits his true feelings for her mom; Pam (Nia Peeples) tells Emily that she is moving to Texas; and Spencer’s dad warns her to stay away from Jason. And what’s “A” doing? Oh, just buying herself some Tory Burch boots. Yes, that’s right: Herself. Is "A" a girl?
Tune in next week for an all-new Pretty Little Liars, and don’t forget: Buckle up, bitches — nothing is as it seems.
