After the Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”) Janel Parrish (Mona Vanderwall) is suddenly the center of every Pretty Little Liars fan's attention. We guess that's what happens when your character turns out to be "A."
Wetpaint Entertainment recently had the chance to chat with Janel, and she dished about what we can expect to see on Season 3 — and what she hopes will happen to her character now.

Janel is already on record saying that "everything is connected," and that we'll find out more about who Mona was working with in Season 3.
She reiterated that point again, saying that while at Radley Sanitarium — which is where Mona spends the sixth months between the Season 2 finale and the Season 3 premiere — Mona will "get a mysterious visitor," promising "you'll find out more about that."
Another exciting tidbit: "Marlene has said that people will start having scenes with each other that you didn't even know knew each other." Ah-ha! We knew there were still tangles to unfold in the massive web of lies and interconnections in Rosewood.
"I think a lot of people in Rosewood are connected that the viewers don't know about yet," Janel explained. "So we're going to see all of that come to light in Season 3. So I do think I'm going to have some scenes with people I've never had scenes with before."
Like perhaps whoever was dressed as the mysterious Black Swan? We hope so.
So how did Janel feel about being "A"? She's "excited," of course. She said she especially appreciates the unique challenge the role gives her as an actress. "I had to just kind of let go of this character that I've played for two years, and build a new one."
It sounds like Janel has definitely embraced "A"'s darker side. When asked what she'd like to see for Mona next season, she gushed that "I'd love it if she could just break out and go crazy and wreak some havoc on Rosewood."
The person she especially wants to wreak havok on? Hanna! "I would love to see a catfight." We're definitely hoping there will be some sort of showdown between these former besties.
While we really loved the mean girl Mona we've known for the last two seasons, we're looking forward to seeing Mona-as-"A" do dark and crazy things next season.
Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
