Last week, we reported the depressing news that, according to E!, Pretty Little Liars hottie Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) will be MIA for "a string of upcoming episodes." However, according to showrunner Marlene King, that might not be the truth after all.

On Friday, a fan asked Marlene via Twitter if it was "true that Ezra is leaving for a lot of episodes."  Marlene replied, simply, "No."

So, what's the deal? It is possible that E! — which is normally pretty on top of their spoilers — got it wrong this time. In which case, Ezria shippers can celebrate. Yay!

It's also possible that E! and Marlene are operating off of different definitions. E! reported that Ezra will be gone for "a string" of episodes, and Marlene said he won't be gone for "a lot" of episodes.

If Ezra were to be missing for two episodes, that's still technically a string. Personally, we would also say that's two too many, but Marlene might not consider it a lot — after all, she already has nearly 40 episodes under her belt. Heck, she might not even consider three episodes a lot!

We do know Ezra is in tonight's episode. After that, all we know is he isn't explicitly mentioned in the official episode summaries for Episodes 22, 23, or 24 (his pretty face is also missing from the released promo pics). That doesn't necessarily mean he's not there, though, and Marlene did tweet that we'd get a good Ezria moment in Episode 24, which suggests he will be in the episode.
So what's the truth? We guess we'll find out!

Be sure to tune in for the next episode of Pretty Little Liars on Monday, February 20 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC Family.
