Is Maya (Bianca Lawson) really dead on Pretty Little Liars? It's a question that has haunted fans of the bohemian free-spirit and her relationship with Emily (Shay Mitchell) since we first saw her body on Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked.”

So far on Season 3 all signs point to the murder being real … but does that mean it definitely is? PLL showrunner Marlene King recently tweeted something that should raise some eyebrows.

A fan tweeted at Marlene, "I know it might sound dumb but is there any chance that you could bring Maya back ?"

To our surprise, Marlene replied, "It's Rosewood. Anything is possible."

We're supposed to find out the identity of Maya's killer in the summer finale (Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer”), so you'd think that means she actually was, you know, killed. But maybe she actually survived despite all the indications otherwise? Or maybe Marlene means she might bring Maya back in flashbacks?

Or maybe she's just playing games with our hearts! What do you make of this tweet?

Catch an all-new episode of PLL on Tuesday, August 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
