The Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Halloween episode may be a prequel episode, but that doesn't mean it won't impact the rest of the series.
Showrunner Marlene King spoke to Hollywood Crush about the episode, and she explained that they chose to do a prequel because it would allow them to "invent more mythology" for the show, which allows them to "plant the seeds of new mysteries to come."
It will also connect to the Season 2 summer finale in the creepiest of ways: We'll be seeing more of those terrible dolls that "A" used to tell the girls what they had to do. We'll see "least [one] doll in the Halloween episode," and we will also "see more of those creepy dolls in season 2B."
In the world of Pretty Little Liars, everything is connected — even a Halloween party in the past.
