There are just six more days until “A” is finally revealed on Pretty Little Liars Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”! Now that we’re counting down the days until “A” Day, it’s time to take a closer look at one of our old favorites in the “A” suspect category: Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty).
Here’s a breakdown of some of the most persuasive evidence that points to Noel being the masked villain.
Halloween episode. In Season 2, Episode 13:”The First Secret,” Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) strange relationship with Noel was unveiled. Since Noel was considered the cool guy at school, Ali was psyched when she scored all five of the Little Liars invites to his big Halloween party. And Alison’s big prank on the girls possibly went awry when Noel allegedly attacked her inside the abandoned house. (Although he later denied that it was him.) Later, Noel was one of the people wearing the dead baby mask at the end of the episode. All signs point to: Noel antagonizing the Little Liars and Alison from early on.
Swimming in lake with Mona. In Season 2, Episode 15: “A Hot Piece of A,” Noel and Mona (Janel Parrish) showed up soaking wet after Hanna’s boating accident with Lucas (Brendan Robinson). Do we still really believe him that he just happened to be taking a dip in the lake at the same time as Hanna and Lucas’ incident?
Conspiring with Jenna. Immediately after breaking up with Mona, Noel was spotted having dinner with Jenna (Tammin Sursok), who we know is (was?) on the wrong side. They’ve been quietly dating for a while now, and the scene from Season 2, Episode 19: "The Naked Truth" where they stood in the dark, facing a chalkboard filled with secrets (including the anonymous confession, “I know who killed Alison DiLaurentis”) was very ominous.
Friends with N.A.T. club. One of the first signs that Noel was a bad boy came about after we saw, in a flashback (Season 1, Episode 18: “The Badass Seed”), that he was friends with Ian. In the scene where the Little Liars and Alison crash Ian’s (Ryan Merriman) frat party, only to find Ian standing at the top of a staircase when a drunk girl mysteriously fell down it, Noel was also at the top of the staircase with Ian.
Did Jenna refer to him last night? On last night’s episode, Season 2, Episode 24: “If These Dolls Could Talk,” Jenna had an ominous warning for the Little Liars. She said that she’s not the one to be afraid of, implying that she knows the person who is. Since she’s most recently been closest to Garrett and Noel, and since Garrett was arrested for Alison’s murder, that leaves Noel as an implied villain.
The bell tower. In the Season 1 finale (Season 1, Episode 22: "For Whom the Bell Tolls"), we saw “A” essentially save Spencer (Troian Bellisario) from Ian just before he died. Just a few moments later, Noel was suddenly spotted right outside the church, adjacent to the bell tower. He hadn’t been seen in the episodes leading up to this one, so why did he and “A” happen to show up at the same time, in the same vicinity?
Do you think Noel’s the one?
