One of the best moments on Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 5: “That Girl is Poison” had to do with Ezra (Ian Harding), Aria (Lucy Hale), and a vintage camera. Apropos of nothing, Ezra decided to give his photography-minded girlfriend a very cool-looking vintage camera that miraculously still works. But how did he afford it with no solid income?

To put the gift into context, it seems like Ezra may have bought Aria the present after she tried to pay for extra sandwiches and pickles from The Brew. She expressed her concern that maybe he’s having trouble with money since he’s living off of tutoring money and savings. But Ezra, being a man, didn’t like that at all, insisting he didn’t need Aria to buy him things.

It’s true that Ezra just got a full-time editing job, but the way local photographer Laurel assessed the vintage camera made it seem like he would need at least a month’s salary to afford it. Where is Ezra’s secret cash stash coming from?

The answer may lie in the Fitz family. Back in May, we reported on the upcoming appearance of Ezra’s mother, who is described as “extremely wealthy and beautiful.” So apparently Ezra comes from major family money. The question is, why hasn’t he told Aria? And will his mother put a stop to his cash flow once she sees that he’s dating an underage high school student?
