On Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 3: “Kingdom of the Blind,” Spencer (Troian Bellisario) desperately tried to figure out why her mother is defending Garrett (Yani Gellman). One theory put forward was that he has actually the father of the child that Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) lost.

Do you think that theory is possible? We can't decide.

On one hand, Garrett and Melissa did get awfully close at the end of Season 2. It's possible that rather than being a new relationship, that was them revealing something that had been going on for a while. Garrett secretly being the father would explain why Mrs. Hastings is willing to help him, and might also explain why Melissa has seemed so cagey in general. She clearly has secrets, and maybe this is one of them.

On the other hand, before the end of last season, Melissa seemed busy with Wren (Julian Morris) and Ian, while Garrett had Jenna (Tammin Sursok). Garrett and Melissa did know each other from the N.A.T. club, but there was no hint that they had a relationship or slept together around the time Melissa got pregnant. And Garrett, at least, seemed genuinely attached to Jenna.

Plus, all this assumes that Melissa was pregnant at all — we're still not 100 percent sure she wasn't faking the whole thing.
