Among the many lingering questions we have after the Pretty Little Liars Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”) is, what exactly was going on between Jenna (Tammin Sursok), Ezra (Ian Harding), and Aria (Lucy Hale) at the masquerade ball?

To refresh your memories, Ezra was supposedly holing up at his parents’ place after getting fired from Hollis. Jenna was seen driving to a park to give an unknown person an object wrapped in fabric. Cut to to masquerade, where Aria is seen standing away from the crowd, looking jumpy.

We see a shadowed figure hold up their phone and start texting, while staring in Aria’s direction. Aria gets a text and smiles, then heads to an out-of-the-way corner of the party where a detour leads to a semi-private mirrored area. We see the mystery texter follow Aria until they take off their mask, and it’s Jenna. She looks almost...happy?

Of course, these were the moments leading up to Ezria’s big public debut. So what did Jenna have to do with it? We can think of a few options, even though they all seem pretty far-fetched.

Jenna Helping Ezra. Is it possible that Jenna knows Ezra from somewhere before? Was she handing over a mask to Ezra in the park? When she told the park person that she always hoped she’d see them again, she might have meant literally, not wistfully. Could she have been helping Ezra reconnect with Aria at the dance?

Jenna Spying on Aria. Maybe, since Jenna appears to be part of the Black Swan group, she, Lucas (Brendan Robinson), the Black Swan, and whoever else is in that group was just spying on Ezria, and the text Jenna was sending was to one of them, reporting what she saw.

Jenna’s in Love with Ezra. We know Jenna (like Alison [Sasha Pieterse]) likes older guys, like Garrett (Yani Gellman). Maybe Jenna’s stalking Ezra, and using some high-tech phone set-up to track his texts to Aria. She might be a psycho with a plan to steal him away.

What do you think? What could have been the significance of Jenna’s texting and Ezria’s secret meeting?
