We’re all excited at the prospect of our Pretty Little Liars one day making appearances on the proposed PLL spin-off, Ravenswood, and it got us thinking about what other shows our favorite Rosewood residents would fit right into — crossover alert! If all television shows took place in one, giant TV universe, where would our Liars pop up?
We saw some serious darkness in Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario’s) storyline in Season 3. She was willing to sink to heretofore unseen levels to get closer to “A” and figure out what the hell was going on with Toby’s betrAyal. In fact, she reminded us of another avenging heroine currently gracing our screens: Revenge’s Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp). With Spencer as an ally, we think Emily could wrap up this Grayson revenge plot a whole lot quicker. In the meantime, Emily seriously needs a new sisterly confidante now that Amanda is out of the mix. We think she and Spencer would make an unbeatable team.
Clever enough to outsmart Spencer? Immoral enough to betray her best friend? Willing to form alliances with whoever need be to keep her power? We think Mona (Janel Parrish) belongs on another television show steeped in intrigue and betrayal: HBO’s fantasy epic, Game of Thrones. We recently explained how these two shows have more in common than you might think, which is possibly why we could see Mona fitting into the world of dragons and betrayals so easily. Sure, she’d probably end up dead by the series end (who won’t?), but her experience evading death over the cliffs of Rosewood might keep her alive for awhile.
In real life, we know Lucy Hale (Aria) is recording her own country album and gushing about YouTube phenoms and Nashville supporting stars Lennon and Maisy Stella, but we can imagine her character having a secret obsession with country, too. We know that Aria is interested in music. She sang along with Noel’s guitar accompaniment in what now seems like an alternate reality PLL scenario back in Season 1. Plus, she’s got plenty of heartbreak material to draw inspiration from all those Ezria breakups. With everything this Liar has and will probably go through, we can see her wanting to start over someplace new. Where better than Nashville?
Toby (Keegan Allen) demonstrated his capacity for deception and his willingness to play evil in Season 3 of PLL. He’s also supernaturally good-looking and has abs that sonnets could be (and probably have been) written about. These happen to be the ideal prerequisites for characters on the CW’s killer drama, The Vampire Diaries. If you don’t believe us, compare some of Toby’s Glares of Evil or Morally-Conflicted Teary-Eyed Expressions to Damon’s Signature Striking Glare. Trust us. Pretty Eyes will fit right in.
Which shows would you cast the PLL characters into? Let us know in the comments below!
