Pretty Little Liars Halloween Episode Teaser: Who Doesn't Need Protection?

Why, oh why do we have to wait until the end of October for the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”)? We know that's when the holiday is, but can't they just air it early? No?

Oh well. For now we'll have to be content with whatever teases the cast and crew are willing to give us. Fortunately, PLL writer Joseph Dougherty recently tweeted a tantalizing new line from the episode.

A fan asked Joseph what his favorite Haleb line from the episode is, and he responded, “‘Whatever made me think you needed protection?’”

Hmmm. That sounds to us like something Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) would say to Hanna (Ashley Benson), since he has a protective streak. On the other hand, we could see it being the other way around — after all, Hanna is the one who spent a lot of time lying to Caleb in order to protect him.

We're also wondering if the line is sarcastic or sincere. It could go either way. We could see one person saying it to another after the second person was almost seriously hurt — like, "see, this is why I thought you needed protection!" On the other hand, it could also be genuine and admiring, if it's said after the second person saves his or herself from danger.
