With only a few hour to go until the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 summer finale (Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer”), PLL is just about the only thing we can think about. Fortunately, showrunner Marlene King has given us another clue about the episode to help occupy our minds.

"After you see tonight's episode, you'll understand why the title has more than one meaning," Marlene tweeted early this morning.
Hmmm … intriguing. We've been assuming the title refers to the fact that we'll find out who killed Maya this week. Obviously, the murderer is a "lady killer."
What other meanings could it have? Maybe the killer is a girl, making "lady killer" a pun — the person both kills ladies and is a female killer.
Alternatively, maybe it's a reference to the way the phrase is normally used, that is, to describe an extremely attractive and charming man. Maybe a character like that will have an important role. Noel (Brant Daugherty), for instance, has had a number of girlfriends.
Or how about a character who thinks he's a lady killer, but isn't? We're highly suspicious of Nate, who we think might be Maya's (Bianca Lawson) stalker ex. We could see him thinking of himself as handsome and suave when he's actually just creepy.
We also know that the PLL writers love to referance classic films. Could this episode be related to the dark comedy The Ladykillers, which features a gang of criminals who turn on and kill each other? Maybe there's dissension in the "A" ranks...
