Pretty Little LiarsEzra (Ian Harding) will always be the hot teacher to us, but now that he’s no longer working at the high school or Hollis College, our favorite brainy TV hunk is like a lot of twentysomethings these days — unemployed!

“He’s searching for that [job],” Ian recently revealed on the set. “I think it’s so fascinating because he’s in his early to mid twenties and a lot of my friends, who are in that same age bracket, are feeling the same way of looking for any job they can and, gee whiz, the economy sucks.”

The show’s fans can certainly identify with Ezra, but we can expect to see things change soon for the ex-English teacher whose love for student Aria (Lucy Hale) is no longer hidden behind closed doors. “He’s kind of scrambling but he does find a small source of employment which will put me in interaction with the other characters,” Ian teased.

When asked if he’d want Ezra to do something besides teaching, Ian laughed, “He was good at teaching—maybe he got a little too involved!” And he joked, “I would love it if he went into meatpacking or something like that — sure. Coming home from a day at the docks? No, they are in the middle of Pennsylvania! There is not a body of water anywhere. I don’t know. We’ll see what he does.”

Meanwhile, the actor couldn’t be happier with his job. “It’s exciting and it’s something new every time,” Ian said of playing Ezra. “It keeps you on your toes. You just kind of go with it each time and you are really living as this person because you can’t really have any preplanned notions of things. I get paid to play. It’s great!”
