The highly-anticipated Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride,” airing October 23) is less than two weeks away, but we are still excited to find out what happens after that episode in the second half of Season 3 (airing in January). Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Lindsey Shaw (Paige McCullers) to talk about the Paige and Emily ‘ship and what’s in store for the couple on the hit ABC Family show.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Are you on hiatus, or are you shooting? What's going on in the PLL universe?
Lindsey Shaw: We are shooting. We actually did not take any break between the finale and the next season. We just shoot it through as one block. So, yes, we are on the home stretch of shooting.

Does that mean going into the Spring season, they are a couple and there’s no question about it?
That’s exactly it. They are a couple. No question. Yeah, Paige and Emily are revamping chapters of their relationship all the time. They move into this new chapter where you sort of see Emily as strong one, and Paige still going through some trauma from everything that happened in the [Season 3 summer] finale.

Will we see either Emily with Paige’s family or Paige with Emily’s? Family interactions?
Not exactly scenes. No. There actually has not been any parent interaction. I’m not sure what the goals for that are, but I know that a lot of fans have said that they would like to see that meeting. And so would I. That would be really interesting to see, but no, that hasn’t come up. I’m sure that’s sitting in a future storyline somewhere.

Do you hope that they stay together? Is there part of you that hopes a little bit you are “A?”
Both of those, yes. No, really, because it’s just like which path are you going to go down? You know what I mean? I think both are equally intriguing, but in my heart, I really hope that they’re sincere and they stay together because they’ve just had such a beautiful story. You want it to be a love story in the end. You don’t want her to be just deceiving her because that’s not what it was about. I genuinely don’t think that either. So I hope it doesn’t turn out to be everything flipped on its head, and that being said, that would be super fun. It’s like so weird. It’s just like am I going to feel pain or be happy? You know what I mean? Either one would be really fun to play.
