Pretty Little Liars Producer: Having Mona Be "A" Was "Never Set in Stone"
Marlene King may have said that she always knew that Mona (Janel Parrish) would turn out to be “A” on Pretty Little Liars but producer Oliver Goldstick reveals that there have been a few “A” slip-ups over the past two seasons.
“[Having Mona be ‘A’] was never set in stone,” Oliver told TVLine. “If you look back — and this is for those diehard fans — there are a couple incidents where it would have been very difficult for Mona to pull off — specifically Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) massage last season, when Mona was at a stable swatting flies with Hanna (Ashley Benson).”
(Ha! So we were right about the Emily massage!)
However, Oliver is quick to note that Mona may have paid off some people to do “A”’s evil deeds.
“Granted, we’ve always said Mona is a mastermind; we know she’s very bright and dropped a lot of clues about that, but clearly some of the things ‘A’ has pulled off would demand more than just Mona. But we also know ‘A’ has some cash — and we set that up last year with the money from the lasagna box. ‘A’ is flesh with money and can pull things off that maybe other teenagers cannot.”
Hm, so does that mean that Mona may have paid off a stranger to give Emily a rub down? Or did she influence another Rosewood resident to pick on the Little Liars?
Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars at the Season 3 premiere on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC Family.
